Title: Unique Astronomical Instrumentation
Abstract: Professor Shelley Wright is the PI of the Optical and Infrared Laboratory (OIRLab), where her team designs and fabricates unique ground-based astronomical instrumentation. Her work focuses on developing instrumentation for the largest ground-based optical observatories in the world and their adaptive optics systems, which correct for atmospheric blurring to achieve pristine optical performance. Shelley will give an overview of current projects and the technologies they employ.
