We are excited to welcome back Dr. Neil Farber for our September program! The topic will be: American Women Astronauts
This presentation traces the inspiring history of women who aspired to become NASA astronauts. It begins with the “Mercury 13,” highly qualified women pilots who passed the physical requirements for spaceflight but were denied the chance by NASA. From there, it explores both the triumphs and tragedies of women who flew aboard the Space Shuttle, as well as those who lived and worked on the International Space Station. The talk concludes with a look at today’s women astronauts who are preparing to journey to the Moon and beyond. See you all there!
